Course Structure

Course has 10 modules. Each module is delivered in approximately 15 hours of face-to-face interaction either online or through classroom teaching.

This course helps you to how to think and approach research, how to propose research, how to do research, how to execute your entire research project, how to do the field work, how to write it, how to review it and how to defend it.

Module 1 Research context, purpose and selection , why this PhD?
Module 2 Research problem, Problem Definition, Proposed solution, Aim, Objectives Preliminary design
Module 3 Where is literature? Review of literature, how to do it and how to write it.
Module 4 Major Findings, Gaps, Theoretical proposition and Hypothesis development A simple but surprise fact: You can get a PhD with just 1 hypothesis !
Module 5 Operationalising your theoretical proposition and variables
Module 6 Research Methodology - Just approach and plan, Design, Data Collection, Experiments, Laboratory and Field Work
Module 7 Research Methodology – Data Analyses Oh dear: your findings reject all hypotheses !
Module 8 Analysis f Findings, Novelty, Contribution, Originality, Scope, Implications, Yield
Module 9 Writing and checking, References, Full- Thesis review, Abstract, Title changed, A surprising curve ball :your supervisor just got a new job and they left
Module 10 Presentation, how supervisors think, how examiners think, what they ask, how to defend, what to say and when to say, You know more about your thesis than examiners or anyone else in the viva room.

Entry Requirements

You are a current, potential or aspiring student of PhD, DBA, MSc, MBA MRes, MA or
Post-Graduate degree course at any university in the world.
Plus,
You have successfully gained under-graduate degree in business, management, engineering, science or technology subject area.

when you choose a module you wish to attend (You must select minimum 4 modules from a total of 10 modules).

We start this course after couple of months wherein you have settled down in your college or university after January or September start at your official degree course.

Mode of Study

Total 150 hours in 1 year part – time
Online - 80% to 100% for lectures
Classroom – possibly 20% for guest lectures, tutorials, exams, workshops
